Whats coming on 09/09/09?

I said it before, of course Apple will have a 09/09/09 announcement. Its the right tiem for their music related products annual event and how cool is it to do things on 09/09/09.

At all things D, they are reporting that there will only be music stuff and not that iPad, iTouch, iTablet that we are all waiting for. Well, maybe this is good. My pre-fear of disappointment of this product is waht everyone else is saying, that its just a big iPod Touch. Maybe if its not at this keynote it might just be the real more fully functional device thats more Mac and less iPod that we really want and leave this event to the music. It also does sound like form most reports that the device will not be available till 2010, and historically we don't see products from Apple shown very early before launch. (Except with the iPhone of course)

Either way I think Apple needs to show Steve or some other amazing iPod if no Tablet yet.

Shozu

Posted by ShoZu

Shozu is pretty, pretty cool - the iPhone is growing up!

Folks,

This my first posting with a native app from my iPhone. The journey on this phone has been long since June 29th 2007. The awesomeness was always there and we could imagine the potential. But in the short time since the App Store went online the world from this device is changing beyound a really cool device into a real hand held Mac.

Often I am 10 feet away from my iMac but chose to look up information or check my email from the iPhone instead of walking over to the computer.

So, folks, today I am very exciting to extend blogging to the long list of things I can do(well) from my fav phone ever.

P.S. : I hope this helps to increase my posting frequency.

Sony finally wins one with Blu-Ray: Who really cares?!?

The Blu-Ray HD-DVD war has been in the news alot the last few years. I read about the demise of HD-DVD this morning in the Wall Street Journal. They compare it to the format war of VHS and BetaMax in the 80s.
But, folks, my point here is that that was the 80s. A time before the digital age when formats mattered. They called this a format war, but I want to know when the war against media formats will wage and end this crap. We do not need formats anymore.

I dont need disks anymore!!!

We should be looking for distributions over the internet. AppleTV has the right idea. We should be able to buy content in super high quality and store it where ever we want.I don't need a disc and don't want it. My iPhone and notebook can store all my media on the road. I have recently even switched to a notebook with no optical drive and I do not miss it a bit. I also don't need a silly shelf with the movie boxes next to my TV. I just need a device that hooks into the screen and sound system and that can play the high quality file with all the right inputs and outputs.

The only real news here is that Sony has finally won a format war. They failed in so many proprietary formats like Betamax, MiniDisc, memory sticks, ATRAC, etc.

ITS MACWORLD TODAY!!

What treats will old Steve bring us today?

Last year we of course saw the birth of the greatest phone ever. How can Steve top that? We can only hope. All I know is that I am gonna buy something Apple today.

The biggest question of the day is "What is in the Air?"
A Michael Jordon branded MacBook Air?

After the good news today Apple's stock price is going up, up, up into the $186 range - putting its market cap($161 Billion) above IBM ($156.45 Billion) for the first time in history.

Third Party Applications on the iPhone!!! Finally!!!

Under "Hot News" on Apple's wesite today:

Third Party Applications on the iPhone

Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. We are excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community around the iPhone and enabling hundreds of new applications for our users. With our revolutionary multi-touch interface, powerful hardware and advanced software architecture, we believe we have created the best mobile platform ever for developers.

It will take until February to release an SDK because we’re trying to do two diametrically opposed things at once—provide an advanced and open platform to developers while at the same time protect iPhone users from viruses, malware, privacy attacks, etc. This is no easy task. Some claim that viruses and malware are not a problem on mobile phones—this is simply not true. There have been serious viruses on other mobile phones already, including some that silently spread from phone to phone over the cell network. As our phones become more powerful, these malicious programs will become more dangerous. And since the iPhone is the most advanced phone ever, it will be a highly visible target.

Some companies are already taking action. Nokia, for example, is not allowing any applications to be loaded onto some of their newest phones unless they have a digital signature that can be traced back to a known developer. While this makes such a phone less than “totally open,” we believe it is a step in the right direction. We are working on an advanced system which will offer developers broad access to natively program the iPhone’s amazing software platform while at the same time protecting users from malicious programs.

We think a few months of patience now will be rewarded by many years of great third party applications running on safe and reliable iPhones.

Steve

P.S.: The SDK will also allow developers to create applications for iPod touch. [Oct 17, 2007]

Well, it looks like they are finally gonna support native third-party apps! Many f us have enjoyed the work of developers out there you have jumped through hoops to bring us cool apps so far. Well, unless you got bricked by 1.1.1. I bet Apple was fighting these apps so hard because they plan on selling software through iTunes and will get a piece of every trans after feb. Steve is getting good at setting up deals like that. Ha Ha to AT&T.
